The Advance Variation
Black's pawn-supported QP advance freed his QB and attacked White's KP to contest centre control.
White advances his threatened King's Pawn to K5(e5) to cramp Black's position by preventing 3..Kt-KB3 - a flexible alternative to exchanging pawns or taking the positional 3.Kt-QB3 line. W-Alt.
