THE CENTRE GAME
White, relying on the extra move, takes the initiative and leaves the "Épine Dorsale" to advance his/her Queen's Pawn and break open the centre at once. The move also frees White's QB and queen for action. Nowadays the Centre Game is rare in tournaments, mainly played for its early Danish Gambit as it otherwise tends to give Black easy equality. W-Alt.
