White develops his Queen early, capturing Black's doubled QP on Q4(d4) at the risk of having to move it again (to lose development time). The early queen defines the Centre Game proper. A main alternative is the Danish Gambit (3.P-QB3), although both lines tend to allow Black easy equality. W-Alt.
