Black adopts the rare and quirky Guatemala Defence, developing his Queen's Bishop to QR3(a6) to attack White's KB with the intention of removing it (after which he will bring his queen to QKt2. In the next few moves he will gain rapid Q-side development for a slight loss of tempo. B-Alt.
