The O'Kelly Variation

White's KKt contested Q4(d4) so as to open up the game by a Q-supported 3.P-Q4 for a strong centre.
Black (rarely) pushes his Queen's Rook's Pawn out to QR3(a6) for early control of his QKt4(b5). Revived by Belgian Alberic O'Kelly de Galway in the 1950's, but also played for transpositional purposes. B-Alt.
