White plans to contest K4(e4) by B-KKt2, as per the rule best answer a QB fianchetto with a KB one.
Black develops his Queen's Bishop to QR3(a6) attacking White's QBP. Nowadays more popular at top level than completing a ..B-QKt2 fianchetto. B-Alt.
