The Abbazia Defence (aka. Modern Variation)
White's KKt gambit (allowing a 3..P-KKt4 attack) stopped 3..Q-R5+ch and supported 4.P-Q4.., 5.BxBP.
Black advances Queen's Pawn to attack White's KP and avoid the complications that follow 3..P-KKt4. Named for its frequent use in a gambit tournament held in Abbazia (now Opatija) in 1912. B-Alt.
