QUEEN'S GAMBIT - Irregular Defences
The Albin Counter-Gambit
Black declines White's QBP gambit but advances a King's Pawn counter gambit to K4(e5), content to exchange it for quick development and free bishop diagonals (a mirror of the Falkbeer). Introduced by Romanian grandmaster Adolf Albin (1848-1920), his 3.PxKP..P-Q5 plan usually favours White but allows Black open attacking play. B-Alt.
