The Maroczy Variation
Black developed his king's knight to attack White's KP, in effect offering the Kt as a target in turn.
White sets his Queen's Pawn on Q3(d3) to defend his KP and free his QB, rejecting the main 2.P-K5 for a sound but rarer tactical line used by Hungarian IGM Jan Maroczy (1870-1951). W-Alt.
