Black advanced his queen's pawn to the vacant centre, taking control of White's K4(e4) square.
White usually pushes his King's Pawn out a single square to K3(e3) in support of his KBP, freeing KB+Q diagonals and keeping Kt-KB3 in reserve. White also often intends an eventual QB fianchetto. W-Alt.
