Black pushes his King's Pawn one square (instead of the Classical 1..P-K4) to enable 2..P-Q4, seeking a popular transposition (called the Anglo-French) towards one of the Queen's Pawn Openings (eg. Queen's Gambit or Nimzo-Indian Defence). B-Alt.
