THE GRECO DEFENCE
White's king's knight attacked Black's KP, deterred 2..Q-R5 and contested Q4(d4) to enable 3.P-Q4.
Black leaves the "Épine Dorsale" for the Greco Defence, developing his Queen early to defend his KP and counter-attack quickly. Analysed by Greco in 1620, it is a risky move inviting further attack, usually with loss of tempo (eg. Petroff's 2..Kt-KB3 is a better way to attack White's KP). B-Alt.
	White	Black
 1.	P-K4	P-K4
 2.	Kt-KB3	Q-B3
