THE KOTOV-ROBATSCH DEFENCE
White's 2.P-QB4 indicated a 3.Kt-QB3, 4.P-K4 plan.
Black sets an immediate King's Bishop fianchetto, starting to exert control over the long dark diagonal so as to eventually counter White's total possession of the centre. Developed by Russian IGM Alexander Kotov (1913-81) and Austrian GM Karl Robatsch (1928-), the defence has many transpositional possibilities. B-Alt.
