The "King's Pawn" Variation
White advanced a rarely played QKtPawn to QKt4(b4), avoiding early occupation of the centre but planning to control it by indirect means.
Black takes the opportunity to fill the vacant centre with his King's Pawn unopposed so as to deter 2.P-Q4 while freeing his KB (which attacks White's QKtP for a potential king check or pin). B-Alt.
