White's KB3(f3) knight removed Black's KP to threaten 4.KtxBP while inviting a 3..KtxP exchange.
Black develops his Queen to K2(e7), doubles his KBP support and attacks White's knight. Given by Ruy Lopez in 1561 but now inferior, tending to lose a tempo without gaining opportunities. B-Alt.
