The English Variation
Black rejected White's centre invitation but pushed his QP a square to contest for his K4(e5) and free his queen's bishop for development to Kt5(g4).
White advances his QBPawn to QB4(c4) to control Black's Q4(d5) and avoid a possible early Philidor or Sicilian transposition by Black. W-Alt.
