Black's ..P-QB3 supported a 2..P-Q4 defensive play to avoid an open, tactical game.
White develops his Queen's Knight to QB3(c3) to control the centre's light squares (Q5+K4) as a main alternative to 2.P-Q4. Leads to interesting and trappy lines. Black invariably still advances his QP. W-Alt.
